Chapter Objectives: Upon completion of this chapter, the students will be able to complete
the following tasks:
1. Evaluate the impact of the Nile River on ancient Egyptian life.
2. Show how the pharaohs contributed to the continuity of Egyptian life.
3. Analyze the changes in Egyptian society during the Middle Kingdom.
4. Examine Hatshepsut's unique place in early Egyptian society.
5. Evaluate the impact of the Kushite conquest of Egypt.
6. Analyze how trade helped Kush flourish.
