Objectives: At the end of this unit you will be able to:

  1. Name all parts of a microscope.
  2. Know the function of each part of the microscope.
  3. Use a microscope properly.
  4. Make a dry mount slide.
  5. Make a wet mount slide.
  6. Describe ecology.
  7. Identify important aspects of an organism’s environment.
  8. Trace the flow of energy and nutrients in the living and nonliving worlds.
  9. Describe the various nutrient cycles that exist.
  10. Explain the difference between a niche and a habitat.
  11. Compare how organisms satisfy their nutritional needs.
  12. Explain the difference between a food web and a food chain.
  13. Describe different relationships organisms share.
  14. Describe ways in which humans impact the environment.
