Objectives

By the end of this unit, students will:

determine, through investigation facilitated by dynamic geometry software, geometric properties and relationships involving two-dimensional shapes, and apply the results to solving problems
describe the properties and relationships of the interior and exterior angles of triangles, quadrilaterals, and other polygons
describe the properties and relationships of the angles formed by parallel lines cut by a transversal

	Art Draw a picture of a house with exactly 24 right angles, 6 acute angles, and 2 obtuse angles.
	Find 2 polygons other that a square and rectangle whose reflections are identical to the original. Draw them. Show how the reflection of a triangle can be the same as the original.

A Layer Choose any 2 (TIPS) Deadline: on or before the day of the Review

	Research the history of the Polygon names. List the polygon names for polygons with 3 - 50 sides. What is a polygon with 10 000 sides? This assignment must be typed for full marks. (20 points)
	Research Geometry and the Noon Shadow at the Equinox to find the central angle of the Earth. This research must be in your own words and typed for full marks. Include a diagram. (20 points)
	Write the unit test. 60 points
