Pat has been involved with education for 35
years. She has a dual BS degree in special education/elementary
education. She taught for 3 years in Michigan and 25 years
in Arizona.
Of
the experience in Arizona, she taught for 2 years on the Pima
reservation, 10 years in special education, and 13 years as
a junior high mathematics teacher in Gilbert, Arizona. She
has a MA in Counseling and was certified in all areas of special
education.
Pat
retired in 1997 from Gilbert Public schools and after a 3
year hiatus went back to the field of education as a Title
1 Learning Specialist at a middle school in Tempe, Arizona
where she presently works with the staff to increase student
achievement and classroom management techniques. She has been
instrumental in supporting staff development of Layered Curriculum
at her middle school. With the staff she has co-designed units
grades 6-8 in science, social studies, ELL language arts,
beginning Spanish and Life skills.
Pat
