1.   Zeus has retired.  Write a letter of application outlining your qualifications that make you an ideal replacement for the king of the gods. 10  
2.  Assuming the role of your favourite mythological character, you will be leading a dangerous journey to capture the head of Medusa.  Before you go, you must order the necessary supplies.  Create an order and explain why you need each item. 10  
3.  Every aspiring hero or heroine needs proper instruction and training.  Write a letter to the University of the Muses requesting an application, a catalog, and financial aid information. 10  
4.  As the best friend of a mythological character, write a letter offering support, encouragement, or guidance.  (Ex.  Write a letter to Orpheus after failing to bring back Eurydice from Hades.) 10  
5.  Use a Venn diagram to compare and contrast two mythological characters. 10  
6.  Complete a “Somebody Wanted But So” chart for 5 mythological characters.    
7.  Write a poem that responds to one or more of the myths.    
8.  Draw/Illustrate one of the mythological characters we read about.  Be sure to add details such as the symbol they are associated with (ex.  Zeus and the lightening bolt)    
9.  Draw/Illustrate a scene from one of the myths we study.  Indicate what myth the scene is from by giving it a title.

1.  Write a “How To Guide” explaining step by step how to complete a dangerous task such as beheading Medusa.  See me before attempting this assignment. 20  
2.  Write a news report covering one of the myths that we read. 20  
3  Write a character sketch describing in detail the physical, emotional  and psychological aspects of one of the characters we read about.  What were they really like? 20  
4.  Pick a character from Greek mythology and create a family tree outlining the characters family and other characters that have passed through their lives.  Illustrate with pictures and give short descriptions of each individual's importance in the character's life. 20
