IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All assignments will be graded
using Oral Defense as well as the quality of the work you produce.
You may defend no more than three assignments per day.
Some days will be Work on
Your Own days where you will be expected to work quietly and independently.
Other days will be Work With a Group
where you will be allowed to work in groups of two or three people.
However you will each do your own oral defense and turn in your work
or projects.
There will be a final test
at the end of the chapter.
You are responsible for pacing
yourself to get through the different levels of this unit. On
the due date, all unit sheets are collected. NO EXCEPTIONS.
You will add up the points for your classwork grade.
WHAT IS EXPECTED
FOR THE VARIOUS ASSIGNMENTS?
Reading and Notes
- You must listen,
and pay attention at all times.
- Notes are to be
written on the Notes form included in your packet. You need to
label the notes with the Chapter and Section numbers. They should
be organized and neatly written.
Answering Questions
- All questions must
be answered in complete sentences.
- Questions must be
answered on notebook paper with a complete heading.
Dioramas
- Must be neat and
orderly.
- Must use 3D objects
along with pictures
- Should use a shoebox
or similar box and should be no larger than 2 ft. x 2 ft.
Essays and Reports
- Must be neatly written
or typed. Typing is preferred (double-spaced; 12 point font; 1
inch margins)
- Should be of proper
length as indicated in the directions.
- When writing a paragraph
you must indent the first word of the paragraph.
- Your paragraph should
contain at least five sentences.
- All work must be
in your own words.
Flashcards
- Should be made on
index cards.
- Put the word and
one side and definitions on the other.
- All flashcards should
be paper-clipped or rubber-banded together.
- You will receive
points for knowing the definitions when asked.
Maps and Pictures
- Drawing should be
completed on plain white paper with no lines and should be neat and
clean.
- Everything should
be colored.
- Labels should be
properly placed.
