Antigone

Section I: "C" level 65 points maximum

1. Read play and answer three worksheets. 15 pts.

2. View the video on Antigone and answer the questions. 10 pts.

3. Attend the field trip to the Greek Cathedral on December 10. 15 pts.

4. Act out one scene of the play with finger puppets you have created. 10 pts.

5. Draw a scene from the play. 10 pts.

6. Write a 2 paragraph summary about the play. MUST be in a language other than English. 10 pts.

7. Make a Greek mask of one of the characters from the play. 10 pts.

8 Create a diorama illustrating the story's major problems and solutions. 15 pts

9. Act out a favorite scene from the play. 10 pts.

10. Work any of the worksheets. 5 pts each/ 20 pts. max.

11. Create a personal coat of arms for the play. 10 pts.

12. Create a newspaper for incidents surrounding Antigone. Create pictures, a cover story, obituaries, and other features of a newspaper. 15 pts.

13. Choose 10 new or interesting words from the novel and make flashcards with their definitions. Be able to tell their meanings. 10 pts.

 

Section II "B" level. Choose only one. 15 pts.

1. Rewrite the story using a modern situation.

2. Rewrite the story using the son as the offender.

3. Apply the story to Rosa Parks. How does the story relate to her?

4. Go on the field trip to the Greek Cathedral and compare what you have learned there with the play.

5. Rewrite story using another culture and how people of another culture might have reacted to different incidents in the story..

6. Write a paper discussing the motives and conflicts of each of the characters as well as the consequences of their actions.

 

Section II "A" level. Choose only one. 10 points. Use "A" level assignment sheet.

1. Burial customs and research and paper.

2. Themes paper

3. Critical essay and research.
